Photo Description

Shorncliffe Pier, Brisbane, Queensland NSW.

In 2018 I made the daunting choice of packing up everything and moving to Queensland. It was amazingly over-whelming but exciting at the time, now living in a new state and a new suburb that I had never experienced or knew anything about.

Shorncliffe Pier in Brisbane, Queensland (pictured) is a photographer’s hot spot I found during some online research and, quite possibly the most photographed pier in Queensland! It stretches out a whopping 351 metres into the ocean and holds the title for the longest timber pier in Brisbane. This photograph was taken on a very cold and rainy morning at 5am, where I found myself alone for the first 15 or so minutes while I was able to capture this long exposure just after it had stopped raining.

Despite being a 45 minute drive away, I found myself returning to this place many times over the next 6 months and experienced many different colours/moods to the place, the beautiful colonial street lamps and dark timber boardwalk reaffirming that it’s a just such a beautiful structure to photograph or just to visit.

You can see the colour version here.

Product Materials Used

Paper Types Used

Lustre paper - This is like a blend between matt and glossy paper and is one of the highest quality papers within the printing industry. It has a beautiful look to it and the feel of a professional, high quality print.

Metallic paper - Metallic paper adds a unique flair to your photographs. A high contrast "chrome on paper" look, metallic paper adds extreme vibrancy to colours, giving your image greater details and depth.

Canvas Prints

We only use the highest grade, fade resistant HD pigment inks and premium quality 400gsm, museum grade, tight weave Hahnemühle archival canvas. Every canvas print is also coated with a non-cracking UV protective coating.

The canvas is then stretched around an eco friendly, kiln dried wooden frame and finished with professional framers tape and hanging wire.

All canvas prints are also printed at a super high resolution (2880 dpi) using EPSONS ULTRACHROME HDx technology, giving amazing clarity and ultra vivid colours!
